Upper Laguna Madre-Baffin Bay Redfishing and Speckled Trout Fishing

Fishing has been pretty good in the ULM and Baffin Bay area on fair weather days. Redfish are biting on Cut Shad, Live Shrimp, and Sea Lice when you can find them at area bait stands. We have been catching Reds on the West side of the Intracoastal Waterway from Rocky Slough up to the Rocks at the mouth of Baffin Bay. Speckled Trout are biting using two different methods. We are using a Old Bayside titanium popping cork rigged with a 24" monofilament #30lb with a 1/8oz jighead rigged with a Limetreuse soft plastic (5" sassy shad) in off colored water, and in clearer water, we are using Plum/Chartreuse, and Pumpkin/Chartreuse/White. Also we are throwing 1/8oz jigheads rigged without popping cork with good results. We use the popping corks over the rocks to keep from hanging up and also to attract Trout when the wind is up and water is whitecapping to create more fish attracting noise. Good luck on your next fishing trip.
