I was lucky enough to get invited on my friends 34 foot YellowFin boat yesterday out of Freeport. What a day. My friend Kirby has a boat Captain that knows where all the fish are. We headed out at first light and headed to some rigs first on our way out to the snapper banks. We caught nice snapper, some in the 20lbs range and had a blast.

I am no biologist and that is for sure, but I can say that my impression is that there are plenty of snapper in the sea out there.

We also caught some very nice dolphin, a hammerhead shark (released), almost put a ling in the boat but he got off and saw some very cool triple tail in some weedlines. We did some trolling in a special spot late in the day and picked up something big, peeling line like crazy but ultimately loss. Will keep us all wanting to come back for sure. It was a blast.....thanks to Kirby and his crew - Brian and Jody, they were over the top good.

A trip of a lifetime for me for sure.....
