So, I am headed on a family vacation to Captiva, Florida this weekend and want to try and catch a snook in the surf. Does anyone have any knowledge if that can be done and what type of lures or baits to use? Thank you in advance.....

Shrimp, far out on the beach. Preferably live.

Mitch if you have a chance just a 30-45 mintuts drive south is the water pass between Long Boat Key and Annia Maria Island this is a great spot for Snook & Tarpon on the tide changes. Have a great trip I travel to this area to fish Tarpon on a regular basis, I live on the Space Coast about 2.5 hours east.

Last summer while on vacation at Santa Maria Island I caught snook in the surf on jigs. I fished them during the tide changes in the early AM & before sundown in the PM. I had them hit grub-jigs & mirror lures. Best of Luck.
