Salt water-Index

Well I'll tell you what I did, I cut it into about 6 pieces and dropped it into the water where I was fishing. The next thing I know I've got a nice catfish, large enough to fry up! Mind you while all this is going on the other kids fishing with worms aren't getting any action.

Then it happened! That's right! A Largemouth Bass, the target species, had devoured my hot dog. It was about 3 lbs but at the time I was the King of the pier. By this time my dad had gotten word of this and was down on the pier to see me basking in my glory! As I carried my prized fish off the pier I was approached by several adults asking what bait I used. I replied very plainly, " hot dog ".

The next day I checked the pier and found adults and kids shoulder to shoulder fishing with.... Hot Dogs! Looking back I know the bleeding cut up eel was a primitive chum, most likely responsible for my luck, but I still say "how bout them hot dogs"!
