"Hi Jo, they are European catfish or wels (silurus glanis) there are a few different fish in the photo's so no precise time duration of the fights. It use to take me about 45minutes but I had some rods built and they have helped get the fight…"

Hi Jo, they are European catfish or wels (silurus glanis) there are a few different fish in the photo's so no precise time duration of the fights. It use to take me about 45minutes but I had some rods built and they have helped get the fight down to about 20 minutes now. I dont eat them. All the fish in the photo's are still alive. Off camera are buckets of water to keep them cool and moist. Often the fish are laid on tarp sheets to avoid removing their slime and to give them some protection. Once they have been weighed, measured and photographed they are carefully released.
