Question: How to catch Snook in the Surf

So, I am headed on a family vacation to Captiva, Florida this weekend and want to try and catch a snook in the surf. Does anyone have any knowledge if that can be done and what type of lures or baits to use? Thank you in advance.....

Smokin Hot in the Laguna Madre: Fishing with Captain Ottis Poston

Lucky enough to have another trip with Captain Ottis Poston. My friend from Houston and his 10 year old son were staying in Port Aransas and after some planning we set out.
Started off a little slow, but were in them quickly. Lots of large trout. Experienced 10 year old with us was… Continue

Snapper Season Day One

I was lucky enough to get invited on my friends 34 foot YellowFin boat yesterday out of Freeport. What a day. My friend Kirby has a boat Captain that knows where all the fish are. We headed out at first light and headed to some rigs first on our way out to the snapper banks. We caught nice snapper, some in the 20lbs range and had a blast.

I am no biologist and that is for sure, but I can say that my impression is that there are plenty of snapper in the sea out there.

We also caught some very n… Continue

In addition to building custom leaning post's, as a more economical option we retail the Taco line at our local retail prices assembled and installed.

What is Gerald's last name? I think my father worked for him. Seems like it started with an L. If it is the same gut he used to live in San Antonio and is a really nice fella. My husband and I try to make a trip to Rockport every September for my birthday. We wade and bring our boat too. I really love to fish and have been since I was a small child.

We take our grandkids often out in the Clear Lake or Texas City area. Well we did before Ike messed so much of the coast up.

Yes we do. sad part is I can sell a Taco leaning post assembled and "INSTALLED" for less than I can make one. However, if you have something custom in mind, building one is the way to go.

Looks like the little guy had a great day with that trout, that is awesome. Glad to see you spending time taking him fishing, we all need to do that so maybe we can get them away from electronics. Fishing here has been a little slow due to extreme tide changes. Good luck and keep that little man interested in fishing.
