Warmer weather on the way

Shell Beach, La. Report 1/18/10....It didn't look like the fish kill was very bad but the trout still have lockjaw and are slow to bite. As the warmup continues and the water warms the trout will get more active and limits will again be gotten by persistant fisherpersons. Freezing Weather Causes Fish Kill

Jan. 13, 2010-S.E. La.----The recent hard freezes have caused a fish kill in our fishing areas and elsewhere. We rarely get temps. as cold as we had and it takes a toll on our fish as our water depths are shallow. The fish have nowhere to hide as we have only a few deep channels in our marshes. Trout, redfish, sheepshead, black drum, mullet and various other fish fell prey to the cold conditions.
