"Caught that Rooster out of Punta Colorada on the East Cape, Baja. It is a realtively inexpensive fishing type hotel, comes with 3 meals per day and plenty of fishing boats available. Pretty sure you could get a Rooster there!"

"The water starts warming up in the East Cape in late May, good dorado/marlin/tuna from then thru summer and fall. Saw your "best day ever", excellent except for the Tecate. Got to be Pacifico! Larry Lissman"

Sailing, Sea of Cortez

Would like to charter a sailboat, barebones, to fish/sail from east cape across Sea of Cortez and back. Anyone have any information or advice?

I don't know anything about available sailboats but the owner of the BajaSmokehouse, Chris Moyer could probably help you out. You can find him on Google under that name.

Hey Larry, We fish out of Palmas De Cortez. Punta is nice. I love fishing the beach over there. We're heading down with about 10 guys for a little mini tourney in May. I'm in Fairbanks in business this week and I'd sure love to trade some high 80's for the -10 I'm dealing with here.

I would have to agree on your comment about the changing environment down there. I sort of hope the slow economy here slows some of the development down there as well.

thanks for dropping me a not.

Mike

P.S. - That is a HUGE rooster!
