My brother said that he has always had the best luck for snook just before and after sunset. We didn't hit it at the right time/prime time. The only time we fished hard for them was in the morning. I'll get on them eventually!
I watched a man fishing from the Sea Wall in front of my house catch a Snook that was at least two feet long today. He was using a top water plug and fishing in water about one foot deep just before sundown. I have fished that spot and never caught…
Well, I'm convinced it's a conspiracy. My brother, Aaron Reed, http://waterwilderness.net/ is all about Snook fishing, and Snook catching. He's netted some really nice fish both here in the Corpus Christi area and Port Isabel. He swears by Port Isab…
HOLY *&^#!!! That had to be the result of theft. I can't imagine anyone in a boat that big getting that far "inland" by accident, even if they were drunk. I'm guessing the thieves were joy-riding. Wow. Good photo. Thanks for posting.
To all of you going off-shore for the rest of the week...good luck! I was out today and those forecasted 2's and 3's were more like 3's and 5's. It was not a pleasant ride in my 22' cuddy. Not dangerous, but not easy. All the weed-lines were broken…
When I was a boy there was a guy operating the "Dolphin Experience" from North Beach near Corpus. He would take folks out to feed the dolphins and even pet them. Yes, wild dolphins. Then it was outlawed so no-one can feed them now, but some still do…
Yes. They eat the throw-backs thus rendereing catch and release useless. Those are the problem dolphins. The ones that do not fear humans (are likely intentionally fed by humans) and they will take a full stringer of fish right off your waist. I hav…
I do fair with Reds. I generally use 4-6 inch live mullet. But I am wanting to try crab. I have never had any luck with live shrimp. Also get some hits on spoons, just nothing consistent. My dad used to be able to catch fish on a rock, it seemed, but I don't remember what it was that we actually were using...that was too long ago, and he's no longer with us. But thanks for the words of encouragement. I hope to get down toward your end of the state this summer. I used to love wade fishing and Lavaca Bay is calling my name.
