If a petition gets started against jet skis in the 10000 Islands area please make sure everyone on Saltwaterindex.com (Florida)is aware of it so that we can sign it.

They're also a pain in the 1000 islands in Cocoa Beach; I've even seen them in the southern part of Mosquito Lagoon, where jetskis are not allowed.

A word of caution... with efforts to ban motor boats from some areas in the 'glades Nat'l Park, any effort to ban PWCs may encourage banning of all motorized water craft..... just sayin'.

I just found this site by accident but couldn't help but react to the discussion of PWCs I have fished out of Chokoloskee a number of times and love the pristine beauty of the area. I live on the Outer Banks of NC now and PWCs can be a problem…

Sounds to me like a"ban" is the answer. And petitions are the best way to start. You set a petition signed buy a few thousand people on the desk of your elected officials and you will get some attention. Before you send it out contact your…

We fish 10,000 Islands, love Morgan Bay UNTIL the Jet Skis show up. The guides from Marco are good about slowing down when they pass us but it just messes up the whole scene and solitude. Hate it.

This really pisses me off. I regularly fish the heavily pressured areas of Estero Bay and Sanibel Island. Grass beds are torn up by props and jet-skis run everywhere ruining many a good drift. The 10,000 Islands have always been a place, when I felt…

I fished stump pass today, and I couldn't fish in one spot for a period of time because of the jet ski guys. there wake makes my power pole useless in deeper areas, plus they have no care attitude toward the fisherman. BAN THE SKI'S !!!!!!!

Pam, everything happens for a reason, when one door closes, another will open. So for now, you have the time to go fishing, all in perfect timing for spring and summer to come together and all the fish start biting. Good luck, a better job will come…

I just found this site by accident but couldn't help but react to the discussion of PWCs I have fished out of Chokoloskee a number of times and love the pristine beauty of the area. I live on the Outer Banks of NC now and PWCs can be a problem here in the sounds, sometimes. One thing I would caution, however... I have read a number of articles about efforts to restrict motor boats in the Everglades Nat'l Park because of the damage to the grass beds/habitat. If an effort is made to ban PWCs, motor boats may be included. That would be bad!
