Visited with Phil Ortez and his brother this evening. He's the maker of the original flounder pounders, my favorite bait for flounder jigging. He gave us so many tips on fishing with these lures, even a trick using a flounder…
Lots of trout over the lights tonight. 25" spec pulled from the surf today, wish it was me that landed it. Happy fishing fisherfolk. <><

Art walk's free wine busted my fishing trip this morning. Yesterday's fishing was nothing compared to the stringers coming out of the surf today. Hope I have a fish report tomorrow.

Hope all has been well with you. i haven't been in the boat in about a month. Was catching some reds at the end of September and lots of sharks at the end of the dike. Past few weekend I have been wading for flounder around seawolf park. Got a few, but nothing to brag about.

Hope all is well with you. If you get a chance go check out the big grouper I caught on Monday. I had to have one of my kids help me pull it in. I had a nice fight with it, but no way was I getting it up on the deck! LOL I hope to head down to the island on Friday night weather permitting. It is nice to leave this office downtown and go sit under the bridge till I get too sleepy! LOL

- Well let me tell you we made a day of it last Saturday. We caught a few trout, but mostly just a sunburn! LOL I must not have been holding my mouth right because I heard at the bait stand that many people who came in had limited... We spent most of the day outrunning little storms that popped up. We never actually got wet, but we came close a couple of times. Sorry to hear the vertigo is bothering you.
I'm going to try to wade in this weekend maybe areound Seawolf with my oldest son Joseph. We have been wading together since he was about 9 and he just turned 24 last week. He is a fishing fool.
I'll let you know how it goes.

We are planning to come down Saturday and monday. Have you heard any fishing gossip? I really want to blow my diet with some FRIED trout! Are they running? We are going put in at either Moses Lake or under the bridge and head out towards the intercoastal or the gas wells.

- We put in at Moses Lake sometimes. We used to put in at the end of the dike.... that won't be happening for a while I'm afraid. We live in Friendswood, so sometimes we run all the way up Dickinson bayou to the bay.
Lately we have been putting in at the old Galveston Bait & tackle. They lost everything to Ike, but the ramp. Recently they have started selling bait again out of a makeshift trailor! Bless their hearts.
I like to fish the intercoastal, the gas wells and out at the pens. Haven't got to do much this year with work and the crazy weather.
