It's probably cheating, but my husband gigged four nice flounder in Redfish Bay Thursday night/Friday morning (he couldn't sleep). I'm looking forward to some fresh flounder when I'm over the flu.
Hi! Now there are a coupla groups to add - Texas and Florida. Fishy guys are always trading tips (where to go, boats, kayaks, lures, etc.) and stories on the discussion pages. And you can post pics and videos. Have fun!
Jason - I'm sure the fishing is fine around Port A, but there are 1000s of spring breakers over there and will be for most of March. You'll have to jockey for a little spot of sand. You might try Aransas Pass (other side of the channel)…
I don't think there is a darn thing wrong with using soft plastics like "fish bites" or Gulp. Just need to remember to put them in the garbage when they are worn out rather than throwing them into the water. We all agree that…
I thought you looked very familiar. That was your husband that cooked all the flounder a few years back, lots of fun. I think that was for the diurnal. I love going back just to hang out.
Mostly in the bays around Aransas Pass and Rockport, TX. I have done some fishing in the Upper Laguna Madre around Humble Channel and Marker 37.
What is your ideal day of fishing; what method and species to go after the most?
Any day is an ideal day of fishing, as long as I am somewhere on the water with my gear and some bait. I love to catch fish, but I'm happy just being out there. If I have to choose, I like going after redfish or specks and my favorite bait is live shrimp. I'll use artificials, but I'm the worst at sight-casting. I'd rather let the bait sit, and look at (and photograph) birds while I'm waiting for that bite!

Hi Anna,
I am from Corpus Christi. Would love to add you to my friends page.
Me, my husband and son all like to fish the bays around here. We particularly enjoy fishing the shell reefs in Corpus back bay. Lately we have been drift fishing in the Laguna Madre. My sister lives in Ingleside on the bay so we do fish there occasionally but we love to explore new places. Hope to share fishing stories!
February 2012 starts with warmer than normal winter conditions here on Mosquito Lagoon, water temps have ranged from 61’ to 67’F the last few weeks, and the water level has been extremely low, our Redfish are still schooled up making for fun sight…See More
