skunk ended

Finally got a decent fish on the 4th of July: Payday, got gas money, hit up the GGNRA sand within sight of the GG Bridge. Foggy and low tide starting back up, i casted out hairraisers, swimbaits, xraps, and kastmaster for a few hours at dawn. Worked an area that used to have a some rocks and grass but the sand keeps changing the underwater landscape year after year.Got a few bumps here and there but the good grab came on the small blue/silver 1/2oz kastmaster with a short bucktail. Fished it…See More

skunk-a-thon

I'm still having a big fish skunk since March. I haven't been able to put in good time fishing. Plus my work and other obligations do not harmonize with the available tides, weather, and etc. It all a big s**k!I need to make a sacrifice offering to the fish gods. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!

full day of skunk

I woke up early Saturday to fish at my local hotspot for Stripers. It was the middle of the outgoing tide, a little too fast that it stirred up the muddy bay. But the conditions were almost perfect. I had caught a fish 2 weeks ago in almost the same conditions(but incoming tide). But not today. no bumps either. I tried my usual set of lures: kastmaster, yellow bucktail, ratLtrap, xraps, and a sammy. I was joined by 4 other guys in that small area and we were plugging away with nothing to show.…See More

I spent a good 90 minutes tearing down my Quantum Cabo CBC30PTS baitcaster. It was having clicking sound when casting. I tried out my new Ardent Reel Butter cleaning kit instead of my usual lubes. The degreaser works great. The tool were handy. And the grease and oil, well, we will see. Also this was the first time I took my Quantum apart. I was surprised to see so much plastic. But everything seems to be engineered efficiently. The important parts were solid brass and quite simple. The drag was…See More

Here I am

I found this network through Facebook. This year's fishing has started slow. I was out of the country most of January. Had the flu most of February. Didn't catch anything in the Philippines. Zero trout on the fly. Zero surf perch on grub or fly. Only one striper on a hairraiser. I've only been out a dozen times so far. Haven't take out the boat.

But April is the magic month and things should heat up fast.
