Just got back from Panama city,we slayed the redfish (32 in 3 days) but we missed on the target species(king mackeral).Caught most of the reds after the sunset under the full moon.half of them we caught on top water lures(very cool)

I took an old high school friend and his buddy out this morning.  We had a hard time finding a school of fish, even though there was almost no one else out there.  The weather was great and the wind stayed under 5 mph.  I finally spotted the backs of a small school and tossed a chunk of mullet near them.  I cast a second rod as a fish swirled and grabbed my first rod.  The line started moving off and I handed it to Dean.  He had been looking a little sleepy after his third beer, but he was awake now! Smilie_schreck

Dean was amazed at the power of it's runs and wondered why any one would fish for anything else.

It measured 34" long and weighed 16 pounds.

Look at the big ol' belly on that...and the fish is big too!  8855

I revived the fish but let it go too soon, and it rolled over belly up.No I dropped the anchor, took my wallet out of my pocket and waded back to it in chest high water. This time I made sure it was completely revived before I let go of it.  Thumbsup

As I got back to the boat, I remembered I still had my cell phone on my belt!  Oops! Emoticon-0179-headbang
But it's a Samsung Tundra II and is supposed to be water resistant.  The water test is over and it's still working! 978

Theres no shortage of fish here in Port O'Connor. We went out Friday and my husband caught 4 large trout, 24 to 27 inches. He also landed two large reds. I would say he had a pretty eventful day:~)

I'm sorry to hear about the lack of fish being caught.I was in panama city beach a couple of weeks ago and although I caught no redfish in the 2 days I was there I maxed out on the spanish mackeral(30),They were delicious and I was catching 1 on almost every cast.I caught 100 but kept only the legal limit...I fished from the jetty rocks..

Sorry to hear about the uneventful trip. The bay here in Port O Connor was really wind whipped, but using bait from the before mentioned bait trap I caught a couple of slot reds and four really nice trout. Wife did a bang up job of pushing the record button at all the wrong times. Got every bit of before we were ready to video and everything after we were done. Gotta love her. any way You can see the catch from yesterday on the truck @ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ultimate-Wade-Fishing-Caddy/126852187... so you know it isn't a story. I'll post here also. Hang in there guys and gals, it's starting to get nothing but better!

Well, Homosassa was a bust!  Online reports sounded like you could catch fish with a bent pin and a doughball, but that didn't work out to be the case.  Fished all over the grass flats outside of the river mouth and most of the keys in the vicinity and never saw a redfish!  Caught a handfull of little trout, all under the size limit until my friend's young son caught one keeper, just barely.  Had to go out and (ugh) buy some fish so we could have his fish dinner!  There must be fish there because absolutely every house has a boat, but many were empty, which might mean that this was not the most productive time to be fishin' since the people weren't there.  Add to that, we saw only one boat bring fish aboard and after we got closer, they only caught ladyfish.  Oh, yeah, we also caught a couple of catfish and a couple of what up here we call "Marsh Marlins," little billfish about six inches long... not Gars, more like a real, blue-water billfish...  Anyway, tight lines to all... It was an enjoyable week, even without the fish.

Fishing was kind of slow yesterday. Caught one small flounder and a bunch of whiting. Seems like we were in a channel full of flounder, but didn't have the right kind of rigging to actually hook up. Will try agin with Flounder rigging this afternoon.

I am fishing out of Half Moon, and going into Mcqueens, we have been tearing the fish up!!  Big reds, sheep head, and trout. The trout are out of the edges in about 12ft. of water, but the reds are up in as shallow a water as you can get to and the sheeps are under any tree in the water you can find, they are everywhere.
