The Kayak Fishing ClassicS has made a rule change in competition rules.
The Sport Angler Division and the Guides Division was created to increase competition between all and level the field. The Sport Anglers or non pro's will compete against each other and the guides will compete in the Guides Division. http://www.KayakFishingClassicS.com

They're here in great numbers right now! Get down to the Lower Keys and fish them on the flats before they head into the Gulf to spawn. Due to this year's lengthened cold water temps, (which have finally now warmed). It is as if we are a month behind with this year's Keys flats fishing season. Great permit fishing potential should last well into April, maybe even the first part of May this year. Only time will tell, but they're currently not showing any sign of leaving their shallow water flats. Permit fishing doesn't get much better than this.

Hey Guys... Can you recommend any spots for fishing the Permits now in this season... I'm from miami but I would drive down to the keys... I just need to know which flats to aim for.

Thanks

The beginning of the Permit's pre-spawn flats fishing action is upon us! This exciting time of year in the lower Florida Keys flats and backcountry should last into the first week of April this year. Get down here and witness schools of them in 1-3 ft of crystal-clear water, before they all head into the Gulf to spawn. I'll be keeping this group posted with this year's findings.
