My first fish last year came on a Yo-Zuri crystal minnow in Bass River 4/16.

A good stretch of weather and we should start seeing some schoolies show in late april...
Yeah used to get schoolies 3rd week of April in Bass River and Barnstable Harbor
I haven't seen any yet in the canal. Going down a couple of times this weekend on the high slack tide. I have seen herring so the bass should be here.
In another post, I missed by a day: Spent 2 hours today in the fog and rain of Buzzards Bay in the midst of a feeding frenzy of mostly schoolies but did manage to put a 30 incher (10 lbs) in the box for diner.

When we docked we were immediately checked by MA Environmental Police and the fishing survey takers. We even forgot to take pictures.
Got my firfy fish yesterday in Bass river on the troll. Four + hours of work for one fish! What a morning to be on the water though!
Never been checked on the Cape by EPO's?
