Anyone tired of ruined bait in the melted ice in the bottom of your cooler? How about your sandwiches? We have the solution:

You got to just love it when the young ones get their first taste of fishing. I did not get my older Grandson out on a charter till he was 10 - part because of his Mama; but when he got out he just filled his bag. He had the deck hands, and the owner of Yo's giving him tips, and helping him learn. His count was higher than mine ! Loved it.

Old Gus....if your fishing behind Pierpoint (LB). you should go over by the lighthouse fishing towards downtown, and drag a crawdad or gulp shrimp from about 30 feet out into the shore....much Bass and Hali right there right now!!!

Seems the half day and three quarter day boats have been rather sketchy this month - but the weather is warming. Went out to the short piers behind Pierpoint today, and the Tomcod were wide open. Now, no one but my cats appreciate Tomcod, but if they are starting then the rest should not be far behind.

IT'S ALL ABOUT SAN DIEGO SPORTFISHING

A San Diego sportfishing tradition, The Port Of San Diego's Day At The Docks is the West Coast's largest public celebration of sportfishing. Signaling the official start of Southern California's spring saltwater fishing season, Day At The Docks takes place on Sunday, April 18th against the colorful and dynamic backdrop of world reknown sportfishing fleet on San Diego Bay.

This annual event provides marine attractions for the whole family, and especially the sportfishing enthusiast.

The serious fisherman can explore the latest fishing tackle presented by the industry's leading manufacturers. Historical displays underscore how far saltwater tackle design has come. How-to seminars by expert fishermen reveal secrets on improving both technique and results. Anglers can test their skills at casting contests held throughout the day. Action-packed videos capture the excitement of local and long range adventures. Sportfishing captains will showcase their vessels and stand ready to discuss plans for the upcoming season.
